Particle Swarm Optimization
A search method in which candidate solutions move through a solution space, pulled by their own best result and by the swarm's best.
Why it matters now
It is a simple, cheap way to tune things that resist calculus: wind farm layouts, solar tracker angles, building envelopes, battery dispatch. Efficiency gained in design costs nothing to run afterwards, which makes optimisation one of the quietest and most durable climate interventions available.
